2022 Spring Wildfires

Overview

  • Increased fire weather conditions exist in parts of the state including portions of West Texas, the Hill Country, and Central Texas.
  • An abundance of critically dry fuels, combined with high wind speeds and low humidity levels support wildfire ignitions.
  • Texans in the areas of concern are encouraged to make an evacuation plan with multiple routes, prepare an emergency kit with supplies, heed guidance from local officials and monitor local news.
  • Texans who sustained damage caused by wildfires are encouraged to report damage through the Individual State of Texas Assessment Tool (iSTAT).
