After four days of informational training sessions, educational workshops, exhibitor showcases, and networking opportunities at the Texas Emergency Management Conference this week, the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) announced record-setting registration for The Conference in 2026.
More than 4,280 individuals from over 40 states and 3 countries registered to attend The Conference this year, marking the highest registration total in recent years. The record continues year-over-year growth, as a new record has been set three years in a row.
“The Conference shines a spotlight on the vital work of emergency managers across Texas and beyond — offering hundreds of hours of workshops and training, a dynamic exhibit hall, special recognitions, and opportunities to strengthen coordination across the emergency management community,” said Texas Emergency Management Chief Nim Kidd. “This year’s record registration and attendance reflects the continued value of bringing partners together to share ideas, explore new tools, and build readiness before, during, and after disasters.”
The four-day event, held May 26–29, 2026, at the Fort Worth Convention Center, brought together emergency management professionals, first responders, elected officials, state and federal agencies, tribal communities, private sector partners, nonprofit organizations, voluntary organizations active in disaster, and other decision-makers from across Texas, the nation, and beyond.
The Conference is the largest of its kind in the country, featuring workshops, training courses, exhibit hall engagement, and networking opportunities designed to strengthen coordination, operational readiness, and community resilience across the emergency management discipline.
Throughout the week, attendees participated in sessions focused on preparedness, response, recovery, mitigation, crisis communications, emerging technologies, disaster finance, cybersecurity, infrastructure protection, sheltering, and whole community coordination.
The Conference also featured a dynamic exhibit hall, subject matter experts, industry partners, and opportunities for attendees to explore tools, technology, and best practices supporting disaster readiness and response operations statewide.
TDEM leadership also recognized multiple organizations and individuals for their service during the 2026 Texas Emergency Management Awards Luncheon on May 28, 2026, at the Fort Worth Convention Center.
Additionally, Chief Kidd and Fort Worth Mayor Mattie Parker announced that next year’s Texas Emergency Management Conference will return to the Fort Worth Convention Center from June 1-4, 2027. Registration information for The Conference 2027 will be announced at a later date.
